Smooth, round roots, averaging 7-10cm in diameter, the Purple Top turnip is white below the soil line and bright purple above. Its large, lobed greens are also edible and should not be wasted.

Spacing: 15 - 20cm         

Depth: 0.5 – 1cm     

Position: Full sun preferred, will tolerate partial shade.

Soil: Free Draining with plenty of compost

How to Plant: Use a free draining soil well integrated with compost or good quality potting mix when growing in pots. Plant directly into the patch and keep well watered, particularly in the warmer months.
