This workshop is aimed at enabling you to perform routine servicing tasks that will help ensure your sewing machine will continue to operate reliably, extend its service life and save you money.

This is a practical hands-on course which means you bring the machine you want to service to the workshop.  This workshop is only suitable for mechanical machines that are in working order. If your machine is computerized / electronically programed you may be able to do basic cleaning but not servicing. It is helpful if you can email your make and model of sewing machine before the class so Roger can confirm that your machine is suitable.

Our tutor Roger is a retired aircraft maintenance engineer and an experienced technical trainer. Upon retirement, he started servicing sewing machines almost by accident- some would say out of desperation. Now, after having successfully serviced and repaired many sewing machines and overlockers of various brands and models, Roger is pleased to participate with Here and There Makers Hub to enable others to gain the basic skills needed to help maintain their machines.
